style=\"color: #ff0099;\">\u3010What made you happy recently?\u3011<\/span><br \/>\nSeeing the proud face of my son when he showed me his good grade at the math and German test in school. Background to this was, that he messed up his last tests after the summer holidays.<\/p>\n<p>He is half Japanese so we thought it would be a good Idea to let him visit elementary school in Japan and also meet his grandfather etc.<br \/>\nThis was an amazing adventure for him that made him more independent than before. Also his Japanese improved amazingly. But he did not do anything for German school.<\/p>\n<p>Hence the first tests were pretty bad. So we sat together and thought of a way to solve this. He came up with some pretty good ideas to learn better. The problem is just that I am working always until at least 7pm so we always had only limited time to learn together.<\/p>\n<p>But he went through with it and the result were those good grades. Seeing his proud and happy face made me almost weep a little bit out of joy. Now that I have kids I can do this with my playground partners and not being looked at strangely:)<\/p>\n<p>It is amazing seeing your kids grow up and doing the same stupid mistakes you did yourself when you were that age, and it is even more amazing to see that they even do it better sometimes.<br \/>\nMy kids are still young and they still love Papa a lot so it is the best feeling to come home and see the kids running up to me jumping in my arms and start playing instantly. This gives me the power to do my best everyday. So I am not really fond of big cities.<\/p>\n<p>Kaarst is the suburban area of D\u00fcsseldorf that makes it so attractive. We have the big cities of D\u00fcsseldorf and Cologne very close but in the same time have a nice and green environment around us. The school and kindergarten are just a few walking minutes and the kids can safely go to school on their own.
